University Counseling Center Services

The University of Notre Dame Counseling Center (UCC) provides crisis intervention and brief psychotherapy to currently enrolled, degree-seeking Notre Dame students. The UCC is staffed by professional therapists who are experts in college mental health. Professional staff at the University Counseling Center adhere to the ethical principles and guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the laws of the state of Indiana. There is also a consulting psychiatrist and nutritionist on staff on a limited basis. A student must be engaged in counseling with a UCC staff member in order to access the services of the UCC consulting psychiatrist and nutritionist. Costs for counseling services range from $2.00 per session for group counseling to $4.00 per session for individual counseling. There is no charge for the first appointment. Students pay for sessions as they attend them. Billing for services is not offered.

No record of the student’s visit to UCC is placed on a transcript or academic record.
