Current Services

The UCC is open 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST with all staff working remotely. Please call the UCC at (574) 631-7336, during business hours to access our services.


UCC Summer 2020 Eligibility

All degree seeking students, who were enrolled at Notre Dame during the Spring 2020 semester and who plan to enroll in the Fall 2020 semester, are eligible to receive services at the UCC during the summer regardless of whether they are enrolled in summer classes. Additionally, any graduate of the Class of 2020 who is unable to return to their home country as a result of the Covid-19 virus will also be eligible to receive UCC services through July 31, 2020. All incoming first year and graduate students will be eligible for services beginning August 1, 2020.

All UCC services will continue to be provided through secure video-conferencing and are available to students in Indiana and other states where the UCC staff has been able to obtain temporary emergency licensure (please click HERE for specific information about your state).


CRISIS SUPPORT

During regular business hours (Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm EST): Call the UCC, (574) 631-7336 – indicate that you need crisis support and need to speak with a counselor.

After Hours: The UCC After-Hours Crisis Service continues to be available after business hours and on weekends and can be reached by calling (574) 631-7336 and following the prompts to reach the after-hours counselor.


TELE-MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES

The UCC tele-mental health services are available to enrolled Notre Dame students, who live in the United States, in states where temporary changes permit out-of-state mental health providers to offer services across state-lines. State laws control the practice of psychology and some states are authorizing changes to allow for interstate practice of psychology in response to the COVID-19 emergency. Click HERE to find the current status of your state. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide tele-mental health services internationally at this time. If we cannot provide you with tele-services, we would be happy to consult with you and help you identify services in your current area.  

Depending on the state,  the following services are  available via video-conferencing:

  • Ongoing individual therapy
  • Initial call-in appointments (formerly drop-in appointments) for students new to the UCC
  • Psychiatric evaluation and medication checks

If we are unable to provide tele-health services in your current location, we would be happy to consult with you over the phone. Consultation can be helpful in the following situations:

  • to assist in finding off-campus mental health treatment.
  • to coordinate care between UCC and on-campus partners.
  • with parents, faculty and staff for assistance with students of concern.
  • for psychiatric consultation and prescription refills for on-going medication management with established clients.
