I was born and raised in South Bend/Mishawaka, and received my Bachelor’s Degree in English and Computer Applications from the University of Notre Dame in 1999. I spent the first six years of my career in the Washington, DC area working for a “big tech” company before returning to South Bend to raise my family. After a 10-year career in technology, I left the public sector for the non-profit world, and currently serve as the Executive Director of a local non-profit agency that focuses on emergency assistance to families in need. I am currently pursing my Masters in Social Work at Indiana University at South Bend, with a focus on mental health and addictions. I previously interned at the Juvenile Justice Center in South Bend, working with incarcerated teenagers, and at Oaklawn, working with adults struggling with substance-use disorders.

My therapeutic style is relational and collaborative. I want to offer a non-judgmental space where we can work together, define therapeutic goals, develop new skills and empower personal growth and change. I work primarily from a trauma-informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) theoretical standpoint, integrating aspects of acceptance and commitment therapy. Therapy is your time to learn, grow and heal, and I wish to hold space for you to be successful in your journey. My professional interests include anxiety, depression, trauma, disordered eating, adjustment and academic concerns, substance use, and family of origin concerns. I especially enjoy working with students who are struggling to balance the expectations of a demanding academic experience with all the changes they are experiencing during this period of time in their lives.

At heart, I am just a big kid. I love watching, playing and coaching sports, especially softball and basketball. I play the piano and sing, and enjoy music of all types, especially 1970’s and 80’s classics. For me, a great day involves time spent with my family, a good meal, and an evening of kicking up my feet and watching reality TV, Notre Dame Football, or a good movie.
